'I am prayed for' tags being distributed before school year begins

A local church is distributing tags bearing the words "I am prayed for" so local educators and children can carry a message of faith with them at the start of the school year.

AwakeningLIFE Church Children's Director Mary Alex Grace shared that the plastic tags, containing the laminated, decorative message "I am prayed for" can be slipped into a book bag, handbag or even someone's back pocket as a reminder that they are being thought of as a new school year begins.

The tags have been prayed over at the church, and there are many to go around.

"I’d love for people who want them to message our church an address and a style they would like so we can mail them out," Grace told the Daily Mountain Eagle.

Grace shared in a post to Facebook that many families are experiencing difficulties and the prayer tags are meant to bring comfort at all times.

"My prayer team has been diligently praying for these babies and kids as they go back to school," she said. "This past Sunday was our children's service where we prayed over our kids, adult students, teachers, and school systems as a congregation."

She also said, "We love all these kids and teachers and would love to encourage you all."

Grace shared the following Bible passage, “For I am about to do something new. See, I have already begun! Do you not see it? I will make a pathway through the wilderness. I will create rivers in the dry wasteland. The wild animals in the fields will thank me, the jackals and owls, too, for giving them water in the desert. Yes, I will make rivers in the dry wasteland so my chosen people can be refreshed. I have made Israel for myself, and they will someday honor me before the whole world.” - Isaiah 43:19-21
